Careful What You Wish For
- You might just get it
In 2018, Jacqueline Kappers, a marketing instructor at a local university in London, Ontario, navigated a series of personal and professional changes in quick succession. Although these changes were positive and desired, she found herself struggling months later. This led her to question: How could positive change have such a negative impact?
With a graduate degree in organizational development, Jacqueline was well-versed in the change management theory. However, her recent experience prompted her to explore other aspects of change more deeply, beginning with what happens to our brains during change and how the experience of loss, even if the change is positive, creates resistance to change. Her research guided her through various “ologies,” including thanatology, evolutionary psychology, and neurology. Eventually, there were enough matching puzzle pieces to develop a groundbreaking tool designed to help any proud owner of a human brain navigate change, transition, and adapt more quickly and with less stress.
The Change Fingerprint™ Framework, which Jacqueline developed, offers a countercultural perspective on managing, and transitioning through, change. Initially created to facilitate organizational change and create change-enabled cultures, the Framework began to gain some traction. Soon, there were suggestions and requests for broader application. Today, The Change Fingerprint™ Framework has been utilized by individuals preparing for career changes or retirement, young professionals seeking to enhance their career toolkits, military personnel transitioning to civilian life, students and their parents coping with the move to college, individuals exiting significant relationships, sports teams aiming to improve team performance, caregivers of those living with various diagnosis, and leaders striving to guide their organizations through change while maintaining a focus on both people's well-being and financial outcomes.
If you're facing a significant change or want to enhance your ability to adapt, don't hesitate to explore how The Change Fingerprint™ Framework can support your journey. Reach out today to learn more and start your path to easier and less stressful transitions.

The Change Fingerprint™ Framework
The Change Fingerprint™ Framework offers insight into your unique profile of how you respond to change and what you need to transition and adapt to change experiences that trigger your brain's adaptive response (fight/flight/freeze/fawn).
Your Change Fingerprint™ explores six dimensions:
1. The unique Signals your brain sends when it perceives change.
2. The unconscious Barriers that prevent you from processing change and optimizing performance.
3. The specific Losses that trigger your brain’s adaptive response.
4. The distinct Gains created by the change (The “What’s In It For Me”).
5. Change Tools you can use to process and adapt are specific to you.
6. Your network of Change Partners.
